What we collect

Only what you choose to give us in order to get a job booked or quoted:

Enquiry and booking forms: your name, phone number, and where you provide them your email address, address, postcode and a description of the work.
Ember, the booking assistant: the answers you type into it. These are used only to build a message that you then choose to send by WhatsApp or email. Nothing typed into Ember is transmitted anywhere unless you press one of those buttons.
Postcode lookup: when you start typing a postcode the site asks postcodes.io, a free public UK postcode service, for matching suggestions. Only the characters you type are sent.
Location, if you offer it: the "use my current location" button asks your browser for coordinates and exchanges them for a nearby postcode. Your browser will ask permission first, and declining costs you nothing but the convenience.
Calls, WhatsApp messages and emails: whatever you tell us in them.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website, and you should never send them to us by email or message.

Why we hold it, and the legal basis

To answer your enquiry, quote for work, carry it out, and keep the records the job requires. The lawful basis is generally the performance of a contract with you, or the steps you asked us to take before entering one. Where we hold gas safety and installation records, we do so to comply with a legal obligation.

Who else sees it

Our form provider, which passes the message to our inbox. If that service is unavailable the form falls back to opening WhatsApp or your email client, so the message goes directly from your device.
Email and messaging providers used to receive and reply to you.
Gas Safe Register and manufacturers, where we are required to notify an installation or register a warranty.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to marketing companies or lead generators.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google will see your IP address as part of serving that request. If analytics are enabled in future, this section will say so before they are.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted once they are plainly no longer live. Records relating to completed work — including gas safety records and installation certificates — are kept for as long as the relevant regulations and our insurers require, and no longer.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email ali.heaton247@gmail.com and we will respond within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page.
